    Old Testament Scripture

a. God originally gave His word in Hebrew.

b. Some small portions were written in Aramaic.

c. The Old Testament text of the KJB is Masoretic and is the work of Jacob Ben Chayyim.

d. The Old Testament text of the modern versions comes from the Kittel’s third edition of his “Biblia Hibraica.”  It is the work of Moses Ben Asher.

e. The Ben Chayyim/Masoretic text Old Testament of our KJB is the “majority text” of the Old Testament.

    New Testament Scripture

a. God gave His New Testament in (Atic or Attic) Koine Greek.

b. Koine means common.  God wanted the common man to know the Scriptures.

c.There are no originals today!  We have extant manuscripts

d. Of the over 5300 available New Testament manuscripts, over 5000 back the KJB.  The Textus Receptus is therefore an overwhelming majority text.

           (Acts 11:26)

a. The KJB manuscripts come from Antioch, Syria, where they were first called Christians.

b. Antioch was known for a literalist mode of biblical interpretation.

c. This line represents a pure, preserved line of texts.

d. The KJB is a Philadelphian Church Age Bible. (A.D. 1500-1900)  The Philadelphian Church age was one of the greatest periods of revival known to man.  The KJB was the Bible of all the great revivals and was used exclusively by God during this period.

e. The KJB is the “Baptist Bible”.  The same family of manuscripts was used exclusively by the Scriptural churches.

All modern versions rely on the minority text. All the modern versions are based upon two corrupted manuscripts which were falsified in Alexandria, Egypt.

a. Egypt has always been a pagan land.

b. Their atrocities in Genesis caused God’s people to cry out for a deliverer from that pagan land.  God smote them with ten harsh plagues.

c. Egypt and Alexandria in particular are always seen in a negative light in the Word of God.

d. The line of manuscripts coming out of Alexandria represent a corrupt, perverted line.

e. Out of Alexandria came the allegorical (figurative) mode of interpretation.

During the time in which these manuscripts were corrupted, there were a multitude of heresies permeating the day.

The early churches battled the following heresies:

a. Docetism- A heresy that taught that Christ’s body was only a Phantom.

b. Marcionism- Marcion was of the Gnostic persuasion, but not completely.  He vowed to complete the work of Paul and separate Christianity and Judaism.  He taught that there is a greater god than Jehovah, who is really the father of Jesus Christ.

c. Gnosticism- The most influential heresy faced by the early church.  The Gnostics corrupted many readings in the manuscripts and offered their own writings as inspired Scriptures, such as The Gospel of Ebionites, The Gospel of Thomas, The Acts of Andrew, and The Gospel of Mary Magdalene.   They believed that “another god” created the universe.  Some Gnostics believed in a dual sexual nature of God.

*The multitudinous heresies of the Gnostics are far too many to list here!

d. Allegoricalism- This is a general interpretation of the Scriptures.  This heresy had its origins in Alexandria, and was widely used in the corruption of the Alexandrian line of manuscripts.  To allegorize Scripture means to interpret it spiritually and not literally.

e. Platonism - Many Alexandrian heretics believed the writings of Plato were inspired and held the same weight as the Word of God.

**The previous list is just an overview of  widespread Alexandrian abominations.

*The next section is an overview of the major heretics that caused the corruption of the Alexandrian line of manuscripts.  Heretic’s Row is as follows:

a. Philo- (20 BC-AD 50) Philo was a Jew from Alexandria. He was the founder of chatechetical school.  He pioneered the allegorical method of hermeneutics (Biblical interpretation).

b. Pantaenus- (died AD 190) He was supposedly the first “Christian” headmaster of the Alexandrian school of theology and philosophy.

c. Clement-(AD 150-215) Clement believed that Plato’s writings were inspired.  He was the successor to Pantaenus.

d. Origen-(AD 185-254) He seceded Clement as headmaster of the chatechetical  school.  Origen developed the allegorical interpretation of Scripture.  He took the Bible symbolically, yet what is clearly symbolic, he took literally.  For this reason, upon reading Matt. 19:12, he castrated himself.  He migrated to Caesarea to attempt corruption of the Syrian manuscripts.  Origen bequeathed his library to his favorite pupil, Pamphilus.

e. Pamphilus-(AD 240-309) He was the central link between the corrupting hand of Origen and the modern English translators.

f. Eusebius- (AD 260-340) Eusebius received Origen’s corrupt readings from Pamphilus.  These corrupt readings comprise both the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus manuscripts.

**The combination of these heretics and the influence of the pagan Philosophers of the previous five centuries would produce the manuscripts for the “Devil’s Church.”

The two corrupt manuscripts are as follows:

Vaticanus- One of the two manuscripts used in all modern versions.  It was found in the Vatican library. It is sole property of the Roman Catholic Church.

Siniaticus- One of the two manuscripts used in all modern versions.  It was found in a trash pile at St. Catherine’s monastery and is very unreliable.
