 2.  America in Crimson Red and study guide by Pastor James Beller (book) and Nancy Velder (study guide) (Stearns-Marshall Publications)
A great curriculum for high schoolers.  Replace your secular or Protestant American history with a strictly Baptist
curriculum.

***All reading selections are good, safe reading.
I may have a few, insignificant
differences of opinion with the authors but I do with everyone :).  Please keep this in mind as you read.
Enjoy!

 For Children

1.  Sisters in Time Series by Barbour Publishing
A walk back in time for children.  These books bring major historical events to the level of young readers through historical fiction.

2.  Elsie Dinsmore by Martha Finley (Holly Hall Publications)
This book and its consequencial series will bring tears even to adults. It is a classic-style book that will challenge your
children to submit to parents and yet stand for God above all.
For older elementary years.

3.  The Terrestria Chronicles by Ed Dunlop (Cross and Crown Publishing)
A Baptist equivalent to The Witch, the Lion, and the Wardrobe.  Why allow your children to read books where the doctrine is questionable?  This series is fun for readers of all
ages and can be trusted doctrinally by Baptists!

4.  Animal Friends Series by Janette Oke (Bethany House Publishers)
A cute series of stories for beginning readers.  I like to encourage my new readers (mid-1st grade) to start reading these books as their first real chapter books.

5.  Jimmie Moore of Bucktown by Mel Trotter (Kregel Publications)
A good choice of reading for boys or girls.  The story of Jimmie Moore will challenge your youth to be soulwinners to those around them.

 For Moms

1.  This Day in Baptist History by David L. Cummins and E. Wayne Thompson (BJU Press)
This is a daily devotional featuring historical Baptist characters.

2.  Changed Into His Image by Jim Berg (BJU Press)
This is an extremely life-changing book that causes you to examine yourself and your walk with God.  This is a must read if you want a closer relationship with your Lord.

3.  The Three Mrs. Judsons by Arabella Stuart (Particular Baptist Press)
A challenging biography on the wives of Adoniram Judson shows ladies that we know little about sacrifices our lives for the work of the ministry.

4.  Ladies Heart to Heart:  31 Daily Devotions by Mrs. Donna Ross(Golden Daybreak Publications)
A simple daily devotional about life's little lessons that grow us into wise, Christian ladies.

5.  Stay in the Castle by Pastor Jerry Ross (Ultimate Goal Publications)
A must-read for moms with daughters!  This booklet challenges families to consider the benefits of courtship vs. dating.  Based on a true story.
I suggest that Daddies read this booklet to their daughters for a closer relationship.

6.  Seven Royal Laws of Courtship by Pastor Jerry Ross
(Ultimate Goal Publications)
Another great need for families with children.  This booklet lays down the rules for courtship and the reasons behind the rules.
