My Testimony of Salvation
Having entered life in a Baptist preacher's home, I had numerous opportunities to hear and accept the Gospel at an early age. At the age of five, I made a profession because I was persuaded to do so. It was not until the age of nine that I truly accepted the Lord as my Saviour. I was involved in an Awana program and was memorizing Scriptures for the week. Jeremiah 17:9 was one of the verses I was memorizing. This verse speaks of the wickness of the heart. My heart was "desperately wicked" and I realized it for the first time. It was there in my mother's chair (all alone with the Holy Spirit's conviction) that I trusted Christ as my Saviour. What a joy it has been to have known the Lord for most of my life! I am so thankful to my parents for introducing me to Christ at an early age. Unlike my husband, who was saved out of a life of sin, I am thankful to my Lord for sparing me from a life of sin and bitter memories. Praise God for His saving grace!
